The outfits of the first digital draft

The pandemic is blocking the sports world and everything that revolves around it. The only thing that cannot be stopped is the style of professional players or new players, as in the case of young football players who officially have an NFL contract. Last April 23, in fact, the "stay at home" Draft was staged and the new pros have already shown great style. Dating like Draft - be it NFL or NBA - looks more and more like fashion shows, where talents show themselves to the world with the most daring and courageous outfits. From the total-white suits of Lebron James in 2003 and of Zion Williamson in 2019 to the sobriety of Cam Newton in 2011, passing through the themed jackets that now characterize the latest NBA Draft: global events that are sporting and above all stylistically trendy.

Generation Z that is about to enter the NFL world does not want to be less than its predecessors. On the most glittering stage in the world (Las Vegas, NE) they would have had a different effect, but the suits chosen by the 2020 class of the Draft are far from trivial. Many now rely on first-rate stylists to choose the right outfit for a historic evening and even in this case important brands have recommended and in some cases made the clothes that have worn the picks. Joe Burrow, the first pick of the Cincinnati Bengals, has opted for a classic choice, relying on a Nike 90s jersey personalized with "740", that is, the area code of his Athens, OH.

A different choice, however, for Tua Tagovailoa, quarterback from Alabama, who follows the NBA trend and sports a Richards Bespoke jacket inside which there were embroidered photos of his grandparents. At Simmons, however, it was decided for a shared outfit: the entire family of Isaiah, the eighth absolute choice of the Arizona Cardinals, wore a KAWS shirt. There are those, however, who have decided not to dress: Henry Ruggs III, called with 12 pick by the Las Vegas Raiders, appeared nationally in a bathrobe for a collaboration with Old Spice.

The one who seemed decidedly more ready is Jeff Okudah, third pick of the Detroit Lions. The cornerback, in fact, wore a Thom Browne suit, even if it wasn't the outfit he had initially planned with the designer. Okudah was supposed to wear a dress that the designer had presented at Paris Fashion Week, but his work was stopped at the lockdown and the dress is still stuck in the atelier. After the official "home draft" the player opted for something less demanding and more casual.
