The Last Dance is once again the center of attention in the sports world. Episodes 3 and 4 have given new life to the debate on the content and quality of the series produced ESPN and Netflix, with the share numbers confirming the trends of the first two acts of the series (6.144.000 the average viewership of the third episode and 5.657.000 of the fourth). The focus on Dennis Rodman, the gradual inclusion of Phil Jackson, the rivalry between Bulls and Pistons and the first historic success of the Illinois franchise were at the center of the storytelling of the second wave of episodes. But what has probably gone unnoticed? The answer in 5 points.
RON HARPER & MICHAEL JORDAN SHOOTING SESSION OUTFITS
November 27, 1997, the Bulls arrive at the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis for a classic shooting session. The Indiana cold makes itself felt and the team arrives with rather particular outfits. After Kukoč and Jerry Krause - with a cowboy hat that has little to do with the context realistically - and in the distance you can see Ron Harper and Michael Jordan practically dressed alike. Both have a coat, both have a beret (which is now a constant in these first 4 episodes), only the colors differ. The surprising thing is both are in suit! In the following scenes, they practically undress on the field and under that elegant and serious outfit, the game outfit is hidden.
DENNIS RODMAN'S PAJAMAS
It will not have gone unnoticed, because it is impossible not to realize Dennis Rodman's passion for tartan pajamas. What is surprising, however, is the use and the occasions in which The Worm brings out these incredible pieces of fashion: in the gym while doing weights, while entering or leaving the NBA arenas - maybe after a game of 25 rebounds - or even in the moment when Michael Jordan himself pulls him out of bed to get him to train. Ah, obviously on the parquet too, on that specific occasion, Dennis Rodman arrives in his pajamas. It is not clearly visible from the images, but in some situations the classic Prada brand seems to be visible.
Pajamas are only the tip of the iceberg, because talking about the
slippers with which he returns to the team, his
hats (which he wears on 90% of occasions) and his
sunglasses (which he wears on 75% of occasions, almost always in the evening of course ), his
hairstyles during the interviews and
his hair color is not enough an article but a book is needed.
MICHAEL JORDAN'S SPECIAL TEQUILA
There is always a cigar and a glass of tequila on the table next to Michael Jordan. No significant discovery, at least until you go back to what is really in the glass. The tequila that Mike drinks is the "Extra Añejo", one of the fine pieces of the Cincoro Tequila brand. Not everyone knows that the owners of the Lakers, Bucks and Celtics are among the owners of the company, as well as obviously Michael Jordan. That particular tequila is one of the most renowned and the commercial value of the bottle is $ 1,800. After the expensive watch on his wrist, also a tequila of value for the GOAT.
NEW "MJ MEME"
It caused a sensation and aroused great laughter when, at the event dedicated to the memory of Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan self-declared a meme, wiping away the tears. In a couple of months, however, Jordan managed to churn out two, unleashing the people of the web after the fourth episode of The Last Dance. The episode: Isiah Thomas explains why his Pistons did not shake hands with the Bulls after losing the Eastern Conference Finals; Jordan doesn't want to hear reasons, renaming Thomas's justifications "bullshit"; the producer insists on making them listen and when Michael hears Thomas's defense, he reacts with a facial expression that is a perfect meme.
PHIL JACKSON'S STYLE
Phil Jackson was one of the most important added values for the Bulls and perhaps one of the most underrated in the series so far. His story, which starts from Montana, arrives in New York and then veers on Chicago and Los Angeles, is unbelievable. Just like his hippie outfits, made of colorful floral shirts, hats with incredible feathers and his legendary and inevitable braces. The episode that Jerry Krause tells of the clothing chosen for the first interview with the Bulls is already history, but there are many cases in which the style of the Zen Master has gone unnoticed.
