After months of negotiations, Everton has announced that it has reached an agreement for a three-year technical partnership with the iconic Danish sportswear brand hummel which provides for the production and supply of training, representation and match clothing starting from the next season.
Hummel will then take the place of Umbro - who has been sponsor of the Toffees since the 2014/2015 season - and will therefore return to the Premier League after 13 years of absence.
Everton will receive between 8 and 10 million per season, which is double what it earned with Umbro's sponsorship, bringing considerable enthusiasm among the Blues ranks, as stated by Denise Barrett-Baxendale: ''This announcement marks the beginning of a new commercial relationship and we are ready to welcome their hum - referring to the hummel logo - to Everton''.
''It is important to work with brands that share our ambition and we were all impressed by the originality, the commitment to the quality of hummel in accepting this challenge. We look forward to working with them to offer our players and supporters an exciting range of products in the coming years".
Hummel CEO Allan Vad Nielsen said: ''Hummel is excited and honored to partner with Everton. Entry into the Premier League is an integral part of our ambitious plans for growth, international expansion and attention to sport. Timing is also perfect as it is the 50th anniversary of club legend Alan Ball who introduced hummel to the British market with its legendary bank shoes. We have great confidence in Everton's future plans, in the Club's impressive history and in its many passionate fans, all of whom fit perfectly with our brand. We look forward to playing an active role in helping to write the next chapter in the club's illustrious history".
