Meyba returns to the football world
The historic brand seen on Maradona's Barcelona shirts will sponsor Twente
June 4th, 2020
A few weeks ago we told you about the throwback uniforms of Meyba, the historic Catalan brand that sponsored Barcelona between 1982 and 1992, also heading over the historic orange uniforms that the Blaugrana wore during the Champions League final won against Sampdoria of Vialli and Mancini.
After those glorious years, in which the blue M on a white background also appeared on the Real Betis jerseys, Meyba devoted himself almost exclusively to the footwear market, trying to relive his moments of glory through the cadenced reproductions of retro shirts. Just two months ago on the brand's Instagram channel a video entitled ''Meyba are back in football'' appeared in which it is briefly retraced its link with Barça, leaving a veil of mystery.
In fact, after years of absence on the football fields, Meyba announces a partnership with FC Twente, a team that participates in the Dutch Eredivisie championship, and does so through another video, ''We are pure football'', in which the brand is associated with the champions and victories of the early 90s.
''This collaboration brings together two historic brands with energy and passion, both on and off the pitch. FC Twente is the perfect platform for the relaunch of our brand. We offer FC Twente's particularly loyal players, employees and supporters an exceptional range of tailored, training and travel clothing for the new season. Clothes made with the most modern technologies, together with our creativity in design that we have known since the 80s, when Diego Maradona wore the colors of Barcelona" said the management of the Spanish brand.
