Last Saturday Red Bull Leipzig took to the field against Borussia Dortmund with the new home shirt for the 2020/2021 season.
At first glance, the jersey itself does not present any revolutionary changes, but to make it ''special'' is the video launched on the social accounts of the German team, which summarizes the procedure used by its marketing department to choose the marketing campaign launch of the shirt: in a video call four folkloristic characters give life to a brainstorming in which it is realized that, due to coronavirus, for this year it will be necessary to think of a content without players and taking into account social distancing and this is the result.
Presented in the classic white and red color - very similar to that of last season - but with a red flash that runs the entire side of the shirt inspired by the colors of the Red Bull logo, the 2020/2021 Leipzig home shirt is completed by graphics that they run towards the back of the shirt, taking the shape of two powerful wings. The claim "Die Roten Bullen" and the skyline of the city of Leipzig are incorporated inside the neck which represent the team spirit and symbolize the connection of the team with its fans and the city.
It is the first time that Leipzig - a team among Nike's top European clubs - uses a shirt with an unpatterned design: in fact, in February Nike had announced that starting from the 2020/2021 season, their clubs would no longer have to be satisfied with the fixed templates for the design of their uniforms, but they could have chosen from 65 options available with necklines, sleeves, cuffs, positioning of different badges and fonts, so as to be able to fully customize the shirts and obtain a 100% original product.
