Are Nike and Bugatti planning a shoe for Cristiano Ronaldo?
The relationship between football and motorsports may have reached a turning point
July 8th, 2020
Cristiano Ronaldo's passion for cars is nothing new, even more if it comes to Bugatti, given that the Portuguese has two of them: a Bugatti Veyron purchased in 2017 and, since March of this year, a limited edition Bugatti Centodieci from $9 million which will be delivered to him in 2021.
Moreover, in 2008 it was Bugatti that had hired CR7 as the official test driver of the last car produced at that time, the Bugatti Chiron, and it was then Nike who involved Bugatti for the launch of CR's Mercurial Vapor, the marketing gimmicks that are certainly served to strengthen the relationship of trust between the Portuguese footballer and the French car manufacturer.
But now it seems that the union is moving from the streets to the football fields: in fact, according to Footyheadlines, Nike and Bugatti are working on a special Mercurial Superfly VII dedicated to the number 7 of Juventus, a shoe that can boast an elegant design with references inspired by colors of Bugatti.
According to the leaks, the shoe should be in a Blue Navy/Chrome/Red colorway, but it is not known yet if there will be clear references to the world of four wheels.
The certainty is that the release has already been set for October 2020, obviously in a limited edition, at a price of about 290 euros.
