Cagliari could sign with adidas
The Sardinian club would leave Macron after four seasons

At the moment, the transition from Macron to adidas is only a rumor reported by L'Unione Sarda, a newspaper very close to the rossoblu club. The news, however, already rebounds among the specialized media and would confirm the growth process that the island society has faced in recent years. The possible link with one of the most important technical brands of the football scene would amount to an important step for the birth of the "Cagliari brand". Macron has been a technical sponsor of the Sardinians since the 2016-17 season and there are 3 more years to contract.
If Cagliari were to decide to quit the contract with the Bolognese supplier to entrust the German giant with technical production, Tommaso Giulini's club would become the second team in Serie A to wear adidas besides Juventus. Two teams in A who do the same with the two teams in B who wear adidas: Pisa and Virtus Entella.
If confirmed, it is a choice that goes against the latest trends in the football market. Many teams - Everton and Watford above all - are setting the growth strategy by divorcing the big brands to obtain custom products, modeled together with the brand that produces them, to have more grip in terms of merchandising. If Macron has so far paid attention to an important club in his portfolio, adidas will certainly not be able to guarantee the same care / quality that characterizes the relationship between a medium-sized company and a technical sponsor.
