New Balance and Aimé Leon Dore team up for a new shoe
Sonny, an U15 basketball team, posed for the New York brand

Seven guys and a few basketballs. So, on Aimé Leon Dore's Instagram profile, the first photo appears that inaugurates the collaboration between the New York brand and New Balance, which together launch the ALD/New Blance 550. It was a job that also involved the Sonny basketball team, a team of under-15s coached by Kenny Satterfiled, a former basketball player, among others, of the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers. The young sportsmen posed wearing the 550 and some garments of this collaboration, inaugurating a series of photos that will come out in the coming days and that will accompany the release of new indications on this collaboration. The 550, however, is not the last meeting point between the two American brands, which had already worked together for the 990v2 and 990v5 and, in April, for the 997. Yet, in the first photo of the shoes with the Soony boys, this project was heralded as the 'first chapter' of the relationship between the two brands.
Some chromatic variants appear of the model: on the white tone of the whole silouhette, the N, the tongue and a line of the footstrape can be green, grige or navy blue. In fact, the shoe has a strong vintage appeal, but given the colors and the cream color trend of the floater it still remains very elegant. Also in the photo, the players are dressed in ADL outfits and also tick a bag of the New York brand.
ALD has followed an important growth over the years, becoming for design and aesthetic line very close to the parameters of New Balance. A few months ago, Aimé Leon founder Doré Teddy Santis posted on Instagram a post with a logo consisting of the New Balance brand and the ALD font, thus announcing a future collaboration between the two brands in 2020 after those already occurred in recent years.
