Patta and NR remade the Napoli away jersey of the second Scudetto

Among the most historic and recognizable shirts of Napoli, there is also the Away of the second Scudetto, won in the 1989-90 season. Captain: Diego Armando Maradona. That uniform has also become a cult object for the details of its pattern, from the striped collar to the Mars sponsor, which is why Patta collaborated with NR for a revisited edition of the jersey. The collaboration between Patta and the Italian brand is, this year, the second work of the Dutch brand in the world of football after the collaboration with Umbro for the Inter shirt. Equally, it is not the first time that Patta has designed the Napoli shirt and that he does so with NR: that 89/90 of the UEFA Cup victory, the NR x Patta No. 10.

The shirt is entirely red just like the old model, and likewise, the blue white striped collar has been respected. As already seen with the Inter shirt and in respect of the Eighties style of the shirt, the size is wider and with long sleeves, and on the wrists, there is a detail with the same template of the striped collar. On the back the quote to Maradona is the number ten made with the same font as the uniform of thirty years ago, and just as then, the model remains wide on the hips and under arm, with an almost wool acrylic fabric that makes the collection available only in a few sizes. In fact, the jersey has only two versions, one wider for XL and XXL sizes and a narrower one for sizes S, M and L.

During the 1980s, NR was an iconic brand of Italian sports aesthetics, which became important thanks to the successes of Napoli and other Italian big names. In fact, NR had also dressed Milan, Roma and Lazio, among others, and even, for some games, also the Italy national team. Now the brand mostly deals with streetwear collections and no longer produces technical material, but this garment with Patta is another re-enactment of the made in Italy in the sport, with that almost woolly fabric and a unique design for details and templates.
