The collection between Soho Warriors and Chrystie NY
To celebrate the tenth birthday of the London based team
October 16th, 2020
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the founding of the Soho Warriors F.C., the team from the well-known London district presented a capsule collection produced together with the New York brand Chrystie. The Soho team was the first English team composed entirely of creatives: the team is in fact composed of illustrators, designs, writers and models who meet with precise appointments to play football.
The collection has a set of both gaming and off-the-pitch garments. There are two t-shirts - Home and Away - inspired by important references for the team. The first is a reference to the 90s uniform of Coventry City FC, a historic English club currently in the Championship, with a small white and red checkered pattern; the second is always checkered but larger, crossing the blue and black colors. The latter is a uniform inspired by the Albion pub, a club in Hackney where the team finds itself in the post-match. The other off-the-pitch garments were each designed by a different team member, inspired by events or venues dear to the Soho team. Warriors co-founder Chris Dent created the Warriors' illustration embroidered on sweatshirts, and points to friday night's clue moment when the team gathers to play. The X on some garments is the work of designer Josh Doherty, in reference to the tenth birthday of the English team.
The Soho Warriors are very attached to their tradition and have wanted to insert all these tributes to their fashionista-sports culture precisely for their decade of life. The team has already collaborated over the years with other brands such as Stone Island and END Clothing, and this with Chrystie is another important opportunity to promote internationally the brand of this amateur football team, which like the Milanese AS Velasca, wants to make fashion and football dialogue.
