Oakley and Damian Lillard introduce X Metal Romeo and Juliet in extra limited edition
A new edition of the 11,790€ X Metal Romeo & Juliet model
March 8th, 2021
For those who've seen The Last Dance Oakley means only one thing, Michael Jordan. The images of MJ moving with X Metal Romeo and Juliet has entered the history of basketball aesthetics, and which today, Oakey, presented with the Muzm Series 1875 x Metal collection: two pairs of limited edition glasses by the historic Model X Metal Romeo & Juliet. The American company has perfected a hyper exclusive model with packaging and signature author, since the collection is together with Damina Lillard of the Portland Blazers. Those who buy one of oakley's 14 will also have a celebratory coin and box set with autographs by Lillard and Scott Pipen. But most importantly, he will have to pay 11,790 euros.
Model X Metal Romeo and Juliet made their debut last week on the face of Lillard, who wore them in pregame against the Golden State Warriors during the arena entrance. Basketball fans were immediately exalted thinking about Jordan's aesthetic, and in fact, the model has a particular history for the brand as well. In fact, X Metal Romeo & Juliet was oakley's first metal frame. The models of this 2021 re-proposal were made with a 3D printer and have a titanium frame and, according to the Rolling Stones, the designers of the model had to reduce the final aesthetic track from more than 400 initial models, reaching 14 after two years of experimentation.
As part of the collection, Oakley wants to make a solidarity contribution (and is also part of the deal with Lillard). The eyewear brand will offer $140,000 to RESPECT, a social care program founded by Lillard to allow high school students to attend schools and be able to attend activities outside of school as well. Oakley wanted to espouse Lillard's ethical line in his work towards the most unfortunate, and the basis of the relationship between the two actually goes beyond sport. But seeing the name of a basketball star today like Lillard re-propose such a special and nostalgic model as Oakley's Romeo and Jiuliet, can't help but be basketball.
