Chattanooga FC's football team has announced the return of a partnership with Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg. The collaboration between the two teams will start in 2022 and will focus on the three points: the creation of an away jersey in which VfL Wofsburg will be sponsors, the opening of a women's team and the strengthening of the youth sector. This partnership creates a special bond, because on the one hand there is a reality of American football that wants to expand, on the other a historic and established club in Germany that is the nail - or supervisor. Chattanooga will have the VfL Wolfsburg logo in next season's away shirt, which will replace the current main partner Volkswagen, former sponsor of wolves.

The bond between the two sports clubs arose in 2017, from VfL Wolfsburg's interest in the Chattanooga football team, after a cycle of international friendlies by the German team around Florida. Volkswagen has a development and production headquarters in the small town of Tennessee, and the automotive brand has played a decisive role in the closure of the partnership between the two sports companies. The relationship between the American and German clubs has been almost entirely one-way (from Germany to the United States), and even in the coming years, the agreement will see a sharing of the German know-how with the Americans.

Michael Meeske, Managing Director, VfL Wolfsburg said: “We have a longstanding partnership with CFC, which we are now taking to the next level. With this unique activation at an important Volkswagen location, we want to make our contribution to providing sustainable support to the local community. Our logo on the chest of the away jerseys symbolizes the fact that we will increasingly share our values and stance with the club in the future and not only support it through know-how transfer in promoting youth development, but also take an holistic approach together to drive this into a true partnership and in the course of this, also bring women’s football back to Chattanooga.”

Chattanooga FC is a Football Club from Chattanooga, Tennessee, currently part of the third division of American soccer, NISA. The team had made headlines in 2015 for being the first team in the United States to have a management based on popular shareholding - similar to what it would like to do in Italy livorno_popolare - with more than 3000 fans from almost every federal state in the country.
