CONMEBOL's Copa Libertadores has reached its 62nd edition and there is still a long way to go to the final on November 20th. Felipe Melo's Palmeiras are the team to beat to rise to the throne and the Argentine, Bolivian, Brazilian, Chilean, Colombian, Ecuadorian, Paraguayan, Peruvian, Uruguayan and Venezuelan opponents are all fierce. The tournament is also an excellent time to understand the aesthetic direction of Latin football and which brands have decided to invest in fertile ground after Nike's commercial strategy.

The brands most present in the competition are Umbro and adidas, both with six representative teams: for the English brand, Santos and Fluminense stand out, while for the German brand there are River Plate, Boca Juniors, San Paolo and Flamengo. Marathon sports is also on the podium, with the Ecuadorian company logo present on the jerseys of five teams including Barcelona Sporting Club. In fourth place in the ranking is PUMA, which dresses the reigning champions of Palmeiras, as well as the Liga de Quito and Cerro Porteño. The latest brand to have more than one team is Kappa, thanks to sponsorships with Racing and Vélez.
