May 19th, 2021
On the occasion of Pre-Fall 2021, the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and NBA continues, a transversal celebration of pop culture, fashion and sport. The new collection wants to celebrate the inclusive moments given by sport, reflecting the values of familiarity and relativity, which have always been cornerstones of the work of Virgil Abloh at Louis Vuitton. To help him in this collection, the designer Don Crawley, unique in his ability to combine design and sport. Crawley collaborated in the creation of a jacket, a shorts and a Keepall made in the same leather as the basketball.
The capsule tells three distinct moments of a basketball player: the journey, the game and the press conference. An idea that translates into casual clothing designed for traveling, patterned quilted trousers with the Louis Vuitton motif or a sweatshirt with the logo of the Parisian fashion house. Inspired by the game, we find instead bleached shirts and shorts with multicolored graphics with the Louis Vuitton letters, while the shorts are decorated with the college-style LV logo. The press conference features formal clothing reinterpreted in a 90s key through a squared black dress, while a leather bomber recalls the typical jackets of the basketball world.
The collection is completed by a ball net, a new line of bags and a series of jewels that recall those worn by the players in the 90s. The Louis Vuitton branded game ball designed by Virgil Abloh, available here in full size, is a must.
