Raheem Sterling signs with New Balance
The Boston brand invests in one of the most active footballers for social issues
May 19th, 2021
After a year of speculation and rumors, Raheem Sterling is officially a New Balance athlete. Already from the "Done Just Talking" campaign created for the Manchester City player, it's clear why the Boston brand has decided to invest in the talisman of the English national team. The entire campaign, in fact, was created by ReachOut UK, a charity and mentoring organization for young people from the most disadvantaged social classes who are offered the opportunity to learn arts such as directing, photography, editing and styling. Social commitment therefore comes first for NB and Sterling has been one of the most active in recent years to improve conditions in his country.
The City winger has already played with several pairs of New Balance over the course of the season, but without the brand's official status he couldn't be considered part of the American brand's team football. From the Boston offices they already know that Sterling will not only be a purely football face but will collaborate with the brand for the creation of both performance products and lifestyle collections.
"Growing up all I dreamt of was playing football. From kicking a ball around in Brent with my mates to my first Champions League Final on May 29th and representing my country at this summer’s European Championships, in my hometown. There’s so much more I want to achieve, both on and off the pitch, and this partnership will provide me with the platform to do so".
Done just talking. @sterling7

New Balance's strategic move comes at a perfect time, because Sterling will wear the new New Balance Furon v6 + customized on top-level stages such as the Champions League final on May 29th and the Europeans to be played in London, where he started playing play football.
