The new Liverpool 2021-22 home kit by Nike Inspired by the first total red version of 1964

"Red is for danger and red is for power". It was 1964 when Bill Shankly, manager of Liverpool who together with Bob Paisley contributed to the European hegemony of the Reds in the 70s and 80s, used these words to explain the red chosen for the uniform. The total red, in fact, was introduced in that season and Nike, 57 years later, is inspired by tradition for the new home kit of Jürgen Klopp's team. The design remains very simple, just like the last home shirt produced by the Swoosh last season, with the only peculiarity of the presence of oblique stripes along the entire shirt.

The details are in peach orange for the sleeves and collar, while the green on the back of the neck has been chosen once again. The rest of the uniform is red, with the addition of peach orange on the socks. Once again the tradition that beats creativity, in a return of normcore even at a football level that now seems official. The new jersey was launched with a video that evokes the warmth, strength and thrust of Anfield Road, ready to reopen its doors next season in all its capacity.

The new Liverpool kit will be the most sustainable kit in the history of the Reds, with the jerseys made with 100% recycled polyester fabric from recycled plastic bottles collected, cleaned and melted to produce a high quality yarn, always inside of the Nike "Move to Zero" project. The new jersey, which will also be used by the women's team, will debut on Sunday at 5.00 pm at Anfield in the match against Crystal Palace.
