The new Tottenham Hotspurs 2021-22 home kit by Nike
With a tribute to the Cockerel who turns 100
May 24th, 2021
After finishing a disastrous season in seventh place, Tottenham and Nike have just launched next season's home kit to try to lay the foundations for a rebuilding that seems inevitable. The shirt is the mirror of the club's future strategies, with the need to re-establish and rebuild mentality, team - most likely without Harry Kane - and also style. The Spurs do it by eliminating, at least on the home side, any expectations: a total white shirt that highlights only swoosh, sponsors and above all the Cockerel, the symbol of Tottenham which this year has turned 100 years old. It is the logo that is the only characterizing design element, being deconstructed and repeated on the side bands of the shirt.
An extreme minimal choice that is completed with navy blue shorts and socks as tradition dictates. The stylistic cleanliness is a sign of restart and reconstruction, phases that Spurs will inevitably have to face next season. Without participation in the main European cups - seventh place gives Tottenham the right to play only the new Conference League - everything will be new, exactly like the semicircular tone-on-tone pattern on the shirt.
