When in the 1940s the legendary Duke Kahanamoku, recognized more for being the founding father of modern surfing than for being Olympic swimming champion, invented SUP (Stand Up Paddle), in Italy the water sports practiced were only traditional ones. The Big Kahuna has always thought outside the box and his relationship with the Polynesian ocean has pushed him to try experiences that are always different from his community: a different style, new techniques and new ways of training. Among these was the primordial idea of the SUP: staying balanced on a board, rowing with a paddle to move and train in this way especially on days without waves.
Over the years the SUP has arrived first in America, then in Europe and for about ten years also in Italy, where
Luca Bellini - world canoe icon, captain of the Italian National Canoe Polo and World Champion in 2016 - has decided to believe in what has effectively become a new sport. Luca decided to launch
LB9, a brand founded in 2017 that not only provides performance clothing for water sports - both sea and lake - but believes in the physical benefits of SUP. SUP means training almost all the muscles of the body: legs, buttocks, abdomen and arms, at the same time. But the benefits are not limited to being of a muscular nature: SUP is considered an excellent anti-stress and above all it helps the circulatory system.
LB9 has designed a line of products ideal for this activity, technologically advanced, eco-sustainable and above all garments that guarantee greater comfort, performance and safety: from the Compression Rashguard to the Hydrowarm, up to the Neoprene Pant and Team Jacket.
