Made for Japan, Brazil, USA, France and designed by Piet Parra
July 1st, 2021
For the first time in the history of the Olympics, this edition will also feature skateboarding, recognised as one of the new disciplines. The events proposed by the International Federation will be Street and Park, with the participation of 40 athletes in total. And for the occasion, Nike SB will make its official debut as kit supplier of the uniforms of four of the most important nations: Japan, Brazil, USA and France. Style, elegance and bright colours will be the main elements of the new kits developed by Nike and designed by Piet Parra. Without forgetting two other very important elements. The first concerns sustainability, all items are made of 100% recycled polyester, which comes from plastic bottles that are cleaned, ground into small pieces, converted into pellets and then centrifuged to become a high quality yarn. The second is tradition: every single item designed by Piet Parra recalls and celebrates the sporting history of each nation.
The kits include tank tops and shorts, polo shirts and cargo pants, the sole intent was to meet the needs of each athlete, making them feel comfortable. In fact, the uniforms created by Nike SB and designed by Parra have no mandatory combinations, allowing each athlete to express their own style.
