The new UNIQLO uniforms of Roger Federer and Kei Nishikori
The kits that tennis players will wear in summer 2021
July 1st, 2021
UNIQLO launches the new 2021 summer kits for its top athletes and global ambassadors: Roger Federer and Kei Nishikori. The Japanese brand arrives at Wimbledon with game outfits controlled by the dress code of the most classy tournament on the ATP circuit: check shirt - strictly tone on tone - and green inserts for the Swiss, while for Nishikori a classic total white suit in which only the UNIQLO logos spit in red. The replica of the uniforms will be launched with two installations: the first already on the occasion of the opening day of the English tournament (June 28), while the second will arrive on July 19. The latter will be available exclusively on the brand's online store.
In addition to the (almost) total white uniform as required by the aristocratic tradition of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, UNIQLO launches another set of uniforms linked to the (identical) colors of the two tennis players' countries: almost completely red and with details in white, the UNIQLO 20 models honor the colors of the flags of Japan and Switzerland.
Both models were developed at the UNIQLO R&D Center in Paris led by Christophe Lemaire, with the advice of the athletes and were designed to reflect the characteristics of the tournament fields and the competitive style of each player. The clothing line also includes Federer's iconic "RF" cap - will also be available in limited edition colourways - and t-shirts. As always UNIQLO is attentive to sustainable production and for this reason these two uniforms are also made of DRY-EX with polyester fibers recycled from PET bottles.
