The new heritage collection by Mizuno x Nagoya Grampus
A capsule collection with a retro flavour, a return to 1993
July 20th, 2021
Taking inspiration from what was considered to be the golden age of football shirt design, Mizuno collaborated with J-League team Nagoya Grampus to launch a capsule dedicated to the club's look in 1993, the inaugural year of the Japanese professional league. Nagoya Grampus is one of the teams that have participated in all of the J-League's first division championships. League and since its foundation has always stood for the iconic kits worn both on and off the field. For this reason Mizuno has decided to dedicate an entire collection to celebrate the first historic kit worn in 1993 and beyond.
In addition to the iconic kit, Mizuno has also designed a black tracksuit with inserts in the sleeves that reflect the club's social colours, accompanied by the club's name. A return to the past, or rather to 1993, for the Japanese team coached for two seasons in a row by Arsène Wenger, with whom they won an Emperor's Cup and a second place in the league.
