The Zurich FC shirt is an ode to the history of the club

An important shirt for an important anniversary. Zurich FC will turn 125 in a few days (1 August 1896) and Nike has decided to celebrate this milestone with a training and pre-match jersey that traces the over 100-year history of the club that has won the Swiss Super League twelve times and ten times the Swiss Cup. The Swoosh designers have once again drawn from the club's archives to draw - in a literal sense - the legends, logos, symbols and most important moments of the Swiss team.

Starting from the base of a classic Nike Teamwear, the Fussballclub Zürich 21-22 "125-years pre-match" has a white background and a very articulate illustration on the front. What looks to all intents and purposes a painting or one of the classic sketches of the designers represents the most exciting moments in the history of the club, reported in an almost cartoon-like way: from the great players to the great coaches, managers who have changed the destiny of the team up to a perfect reproduction of all the crests of Zurich - scattered throughout the shirt.

This is not the first time that Nike has experimented with out-of-ordinary designs for training or pre-match jerseys. It had happened last year with Barcelona - with a reference to the art of Antoni Gaudì and his mosaics - but also with AS Roma (the reference to the architecture of the Pantheon is spectacular) and with Inter Milan - always in the sign of Ettore Sottsass.
