Parma unveils blackout kit
Designed by Erreà, the kit highlights Parma's commitment against all forms of discrimination
August 6th, 2021
Already in the 37th day of Serie A 2020/21, the Crociati wore a special kit dedicated to the fight against discrimination and Black Lives Matter. And also this year Parma together with Erreà relaunches its commitment with the third uniform for the entire 2021-22 season, which is all black with gold and silver logos, completed by the golden writing on the back "Against All Discrimination". A jersey that is much more than just a jersey, reminding us how fundamental it is for our society to fight against all discrimination in sport and in everyday life. An important issue for which Parma takes a clear position as last year, with the desire to raise awareness through concrete actions.
A jersey reminiscent of the one made by adidas for Germany at Euro2020, but not only that, the Blackout trend has already been seen for a few years in the Bundesliga. PUMA was one of the brands to have experimented with this colorway back in 2018 with a special edition of the Stuttgart jersey made in collaboration with a collective of local artists. The same obviously successful operation was then renewed last season with Borussia Dortmund. Nike also made a total black one with AIK, a team that plays in the Greek top division.
For the launch of the third jersey, the club was inspired by iconic Hollywood movie posters. The four players chosen - Juan Francisco Brunetta, Drissa Camara, Stanko Jurić and Franco Vázquez - are the protagonists of this 'film', like superheroes but crusaders ready to fight against all forms of discrimination on and off the pitch. The third jersey, like the home and away ones, is made of the antiviral and antibacterial technical fabric Ti-energy 3.0.
