Right at the end of the year Nike takes advantage of the 50th anniversary to announce one of the most anticipated returns among fans of soccer and sneakers, the first shoe ever made by the company in Oregon. It was the first shoe to have on its side the swoosh that will become one of the most iconic symbols of our time while the shape of the upper takes that of another great success of that period of Nike, or the Cortez.

Launched on the market with a very popular price, just 17 dollars, it quickly became the boot that defined an era of world soccer with its classic but elegant style. In black leather with a contrasting white swoosh, it was initially put on the market without any protection against the weather. A choice that turned out to be unsuccessful, causing quite a few problems especially during games in cold and rainy conditions. These structural problems and Nike's choice to focus mainly on running, tennis and basketball contributed to the withdrawal of the shoe from the market, and for several decades the Beaverton-based company no longer dealt with soccer boots.

Now Nike has become the largest supplier of technical equipment for soccer players and has decided to pay homage to its humblest beginnings by reissuing the shoe from which it all began.Faithful to the original, the Nike 1971 takes the black leather structure with the white mustache to which adds in detail the Mexico 70 World Cup logo on the tongue and insole. To complete the shoe 13 white conical studs like those used by footballers fifty years ago, in another world and another soccer.

The Nike 1971 boot will be available from December 6 at a price of $240.
