January 7th, 2022
Right on the heels of the start of the African Cup of Nations, which will see its kickoff on Sunday, January 9, the annual tournament organized by Daily Paper in Ghana has just concluded, in the Accra Sports Stadium built together with PUMA in 2017. The Dutch brand has always proven to be attentive to the energies and cultures present on the African continent, celebrating its aesthetics and identity not only with local initiatives but proposing it at the center of their global proposal, including it in collections, lookbooks and advertising campaigns.
This relationship culminates in the tournament that Daily Paper has been organizing in Accra for the past three years, a regular event that brings together the passion for soccer with the creativity, art and music of the Ghanaian capital. The tournament has attracted local communites through a series of dedicated pop-ups, and this edition too saw no shortage of local and international personalities on and off the pitch, with Eugy, King Promise and Vic Mensa among the guests. Free The Youth, Melanin Unscripted, Too Loud, Smallgod, Eunice Beckmann and Native Mag were the teams that faced off on the court, with the latter triumphing. Each team received a custom jersey from PUMA for the occasion with attention to the identity and message supported by each team.
