PSG redesigned the 1991 and 1992 jerseys
A new collection designed to unite past and future
January 18th, 2022
January continues to be a very hot month for PSG, after the opening of the new store on the Champs-Élysées, one of the widest and most majestic avenues in Paris, and the various collaborations with Tango Hotel, the French club has released "Heritage" a new collection made of vintage jerseys used in the '92 and '93 seasons. The 90s will forever remain in the hearts and eyes of every football jersey fan, an aesthetic that not only continues to influence the kit creators of each brand, but extends far beyond just football. This must have been one of the reasons why Paris decided to bring back some of its historic uniforms, producing reproductions that are perfectly faithful to the originals but without the Nike logo, the club's sponsor since 1989.
An interesting journey through the PSG archive, full of shirts that have remained in history and once again used by the club in a functional way to link modern style to the traditional aesthetic that always impresses the fans. Once again, fashion has preceded this trend by exploiting references from the past and adapting them to contemporary design, as we have seen in recent fashion shows. PSG, however, is not the first team to bring back those large patterns and designs with stiff collars and fabrics, more and more clubs are now self-producing the shirts of past seasons, from Roma to Atletico to Liverpool.
