Supreme to collaborate with Umbro
Football-inspired tracksuits and balls in the New York-based brand's new lookbook
February 14th, 2022
Supreme has today unveiled its new SS22 loobook and inside, in addition to the disparate and eccentric garments and accessories typical of the brand founded by James Jebbia, there will also be room for football. The New York-based brand has teamed up with Umbro to create a tracksuit with the Italy logo in three different colours and two different balls, one camouflage and the other white. It's not the first that Supreme has taken inspiration from the world of football, back in 2018 it created a "Soccer Polo", loosely inspired by a kit of Umbro's own used by Tottenham in the 1990s.
It was a "response" to the collaboration between Palace and Kappa, who at the beginning of December created a collection inspired by the two brands' common soul, i.e. the fascination with the '90s filtered through streetwear and the casual culture of English curves, and which included an acetate game shirt, tracksuits, windbreakers, tees, hats and accessories with the double logos prominently displayed.
