Hoffenheim and Joma together for Special Edition "Africa" jersey
For the first time, the 'umoja' logo, the lifestyle brand of the German team, will appear
March 30th, 2022
In order to help Africa, which is indirectly affected by the Russian-initiated war in Ukraine, Joma and Hoffenheim released a special new shirt yesterday, which will only be worn in the next league game against Bochum. The jersey is obviously limited edition, the German club has only produced 1,000 pieces, and part of the proceeds from the sales and subsequent auction of the jerseys worn by the first team will go to "Viva con Agua", a charity and former partner of the club that operates on the African continent. The kit features a bold design inspired by African models and is a complete departure from the shirts and colours worn by the German club in its history. The jersey has a dark green base and is accompanied by unique and distinctive red motifs that are repeated throughout the jersey, from the collar to the sleeves to the socks.
Among the other features of the jersey is the fact that SAP (Hoffenheim's sponsor) has renounced its presence in the jersey in favour of the "umoja" brand, (the lifestyle brand of the German club), which will produce, as always, all the new kits in Uganda. The jersey will not be the only initiative, in the coming weeks the German club will promote several initiatives always in support of the African continent with the sole intent of helping it during this complex period.
