The new Prada Linea Rossa collection
Metropolitan clothing designed for the future and designed for sport
April 4th, 2022
Just a few days ago, Prada Linea Rossa presented its new spring/summer 2022 collection, which is inspired by the energy and movements of sport, the kinetic needs of the body as a function of fashion, and translates them into a style that speaks of modern life. The living essence of the collection is captured in the hyper-speed, in the rapid succession of movements and blurred actions that highlight the slender shapes and smooth, high-tech fabrics that have always been the hallmark of the line. The collection, defined by absolute monochromes and the grey scale, is essential, elegant and designed to meet the needs of contemporary existence. The roots of Prada Linea Rossa emerge in the elegant and minimal lines typical of the fashion of the '90s, a style that in Prada has seen its birth and evolution. In addition, the Prada America's Cup sneakers - a cornerstone of Prada Linea Rossa since its inception - is relaunched, and a new dimension is added for 2022: customisation.
In Dufort's images and in the video shot for the campaign by director Albert Moya, four figures play a futuristic game of ping-pong, in an intricate choreography of forehands and backhands, as a single team. The game being played is actually one between present and future, where physical experience and digital effects, humanity and technology, meet and merge. From snowboarding to the America's Cup, Prada is increasingly intent on influencing and innovating the world of sport through its iconic silhouettes and the dynamism of its garments.
