From 2023 FIFA will change its name to EA SPORTS FC

It was already in the air but yesterday afternoon the official confirmation arrived, after more than 30 years Electronic Arts officially announced that after FIFA 23 the game will change its name to EA SPORTS FC. "This new independent platform will bring new opportunities: to innovate, create and evolve. This is much more than just a symbol change: as EA SPORTS, we are committed to ensuring that EA SPORTS FC is a symbol of change. We are committed to significantly reinvesting in sport and are excited to work with a large and growing number of partners to develop authentic new experiences that bring joy, inclusivity and immersion to a global fan community. We look forward to sharing more details about these plans in the coming months." 

The name change, however, EA SPORTS says will come not before we have developed and released our most ambitious game ever under our current naming right partner, FIFA, for a further year. From next year the game will have more features, game modes and even content dedicated to the World Cup but not only that, also to clubs, leagues, competitions and players than any previous title.
