The new Borussia Dortmund shirt by PUMA for the 2022/23 season
A bridge to the history of the foundation of BVB
May 13th, 2022
After Juventus and Roma, another new jersey has arrived. PUMA today presented Borussia Dortmund's new home shirt for next season. The traditional black and yellow jersey evokes memories of BVB's origins, with special graphics depicting the windows of the Wildschütz Inn, creating a bridge to the history of BVB's foundation. Founded on 19 December 1909, BVB was clearly different from other clubs. 18 young people came together to found the Ballspielverein Borussia in the inn 'Zum Wildschütz' on Borsigplatz. The inscription 'Borussia Verbindet' is visible on the collar of the shirt, a reminder that everything can be overcome if you stick together. Then as now, Borussia unites people across generations as one club.
The new home shirt will make its debut on the pitch when BVB face Hertha BSC Berlin on the final day of the championship on 14 May and will be available in two different versions. The pro version, the one the players will wear, is made from the revolutionary ULTRAWEAVE fabric and dryCELL technology for maximum breathability, making it the lightest and most comfortable jersey PUMA has ever made. The Replica version is made from 100% recycled polyester with DryCELL technology to keep the player comfortable in all weather conditions for the full 90 minutes and beyond, regardless of time, pitch or location.
