Venezia also unveiled its third jersey
The Lagooners will play in gold, a tribute to the city's churches, monuments and palaces
July 21st, 2022
Once again this year, Venezia did not disappoint expectations. On the contrary, after enjoying great success with the first and second shirts, today the lagunari also presented the third kit, again designed by the Bureau Borsche studio and produced by Kappa. The new jersey is characterised by its golden hue, a colour rarely seen on the playing fields but which Venezia have adopted to strengthen their ties with the city. This choice is in fact a tribute to the churches, monuments and golden palaces of the iconic city on the water and to the historical importance of this metal in Venetian art and commerce from the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance. Like the first, the third jersey will also have a collar, black like the logos, the lettering and the inserts in the sleeves, certifying once again how this element has indeed returned to prominence after the Real Madrid and Manchester United uniforms.
The Chief Marketing Officer of Venezia F.C. Ted Philipakos, specified that for the new jersey "we had a clear idea of what we wanted to achieve, combining references from the past with our current vision of the club, and we relied on our partners to find a solution together. The result is beautiful and we are proud to have worked with Kappa and Bureau Borsche on the project".
The gold colour is certainly not common on football shirts, indeed we remember some of them as unique or almost unique cases. In the past in fact, many clubs have tried to create something unique by playing with gold tones, such as Juventus and AC Milan in 2008/09 and 2013/14, or Bayern and Lyon in 2004/05 and 2007/08, or Barcelona and Arsenal in 2000, often achieving a result that was too shiny or tending towards yellow. This is why when Venezia proposed the idea to Kappa last year, the Turin-based brand immediately accepted the challenge, working to give the jersey the right tone and opacity. With the third jersey, lagunari presented all the kits it will wear next season, finding a perfect and elegant declination even for a jersey in a colour that is certainly unprecedented but of great impact.
