PUMA presented the new A.C. Milan away jersey
Back in white with seven horizontal stripes
July 22nd, 2022
After the light gold jersey that characterised the Scudetto-winning return season, AC Milan will return to play away games in white again this year. The Stefano Pioli-led club's most iconic alternative colour scheme returns as it did in 2018/19, the year PUMA affixed its symbol to the Milanese club's jerseys. The white base features seven red horizontal stripes running through the centre of the shirt, in a new take on the 1984/85 away jersey. The seven stripes represent the seven European titles won by Milan, from Wembley in 1963 to Athens in 2007. The shirt features red and black trim on the sleeve details and V-collar, as well as the Milan crest on the upper back.
"For this year's Away kit we wanted to reintroduce an all-white kit, an iconic look for AC Milan's Away kits that has been a staple of recent winning seasons," said Marco Mueller, Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel at PUMA. "AC Milan is rich in history and that's why we were inspired by the away kit from the 1984/85 season. We wanted to bring a new energy to that kit and celebrate the iconic all-white kits of the past."
The new jersey is available in two versions. The Authentic jersey features ULTRAWEAVE performance fabric and DryCELL technology for maximum breathability, making it the lightest and most comfortable ever made by PUMA. The Replica version is made of 100% recycled polyester and features DryCELL technology to keep the skin dry for the full 90 minutes and beyond, regardless of time, pitch or location. Both the Authentic and Replica jerseys are made from 100 per cent recycled materials, excluding the edging and decoration, as a step towards a better future.
