Will Roma switch to adidas?
The German brand that will dress the Giallorossi after the end of the contract with New Balance
July 22nd, 2022
After Dybala's arrival, AS Roma continues to plan its future by finding the next technical sponsor that will replace New Balance at the end of the 2022/23 season. In fact, the renewal option with the U.S. brand, which has made the last two Giallorossi jerseys, will not be exercised, and an agreement has already been found with adidas, which will return after the three-year period 1991-94 to dress the team in the capital. The figures for this multi-year contract are obviously not yet known, but according to Il Tempo rumors it should be the second most lucrative technical sponsorship deal in Serie A after the one between adidas itself and Juventus.
The Herzogenaurach company has a special history with the Giallorossi, having dressed some of the club's most iconic players during the early 1990s, from Giancarlo Giannini to a young Francesco Totti, but not everyone knows that adidas also made some jerseys during the 1970s, when Italian soccer teams began to open up to technical sponsorship. It will therefore be an important return, coinciding with further maneuvers by the Dan Friedkin ownership to relaunch Roma both in the league and in Europe.
