Inter overshadowed its main sponsor
A forced choice for the Nerazzurri club, which complains about the delay of some payments
July 29th, 2022
The relationship between Inter and Digitalbeats, the blockchain network that became the Nerazzurri's main sponsor on 1 July, taking over from Socios, is not off to a good start. A delay that led Inter, yesterday, to black out Digitalbeats' logo from its website. The main sponsor in fact has a very important agreement in place with Inter; over four years it will have to pay into the Italian club's coffers around 85 million. Apparently the reasons for the non-payment are to be found in the performance of the company itself, the cryptocurrency is now worth a tenth of what it was when it was placed on the market.
The repercussions apparently, if the first instalment does not arrive soon, could get worse and worse, in the next friendly in Cesena the sponsor's name will certainly disappear from the boards and it is likely that they will also obscure it on the shirts. While the presentation of the away jersey has been postponed, the club does not want in any way to give visibility to the sponsor, so it seems that everything will be postponed until a later date. More complex instead is the road leading to the definitive removal of the logo from the jersey, as it has already been widely presented and distributed, and moreover finding a main sponsor in such a short time is a more than arduous undertaking. On the Roma side instead, the other club sponsored by Digitalbeats, there does not seem to be any problem, the Giallorossi have received all the payments and have not made any statement on the matter.
