The second chapter of the spectacular collaboration between adidas, Daily Paper and Ajax
All the multiculturalism of Amsterdam in an exclusive collection designed to be worn on and off the pitch
September 5th, 2022
After surprising everyone a few weeks ago with a gold-coloured jersey with a design paying homage to the 'pleintjes', the infamous football pitches of the Dutch capital, today Daily Paper and Ajax presented the second chapter of their collection. Unlike the third shirt, the common element of the entire collection is an eye-catching print inspired by East African beads in the pan-African colours red, black and green. With this release, Ajax, adidas and Daily Paper once again want to celebrate and emphasise the multiculturalism of Amsterdam, an acclaimed city known worldwide for its diverse population. The collection features a men's and women's version of the pre-match shirt, two different jackets, a trouser and finally a sweatshirt. All the new items in the collection will make their debut in the UEFA Champions League match against Glasgow Rangers on Wednesday 7 September, and will be used for all other matches thereafter.
In addition to Ajax players Steven Bergwijn, Mohammed Kudus, Quinty Sabayo and Kay-Lee de Sanders and former Ajax players Frank de Boer, Tarik Oulida, John van 't Schip and Rob Witschge, the presentations also include legendary tattoo artist Henk Schiffmacher with his daughter Texas and musicians Rbdjan, Rocks, Rotjoch, Chivv and Kalibwoy and many other proud 'Amsterdammers'. Nothing is left to chance, the iconic Amsterdam locations were carefully selected to promote the Amsterdam natives, entrepreneurs and local businesses that make up the community brought together by and for the love of Ajax. Among the various shots are the famous café Ruk & Pluk, the unique black doll shop Colourful Goodies, the Asian fusion restaurant Mito, the concert hall Bimhuis, the Turkish restaurant Efes and finally the sports shop Smit-Cruyff.
