The two football halves of Buenos Aires, Boca Juniors and River Plate, have launched their away jerseys through a shoot made together by taking advantage of a common technical sponsor: adidas. In fact, if the Millonarios are linked to the German brand by a partnership that this season reaches forty years, the Xeneizes after a long agreement with Nike have recently switched to adidas, which has not missed the opportunity to thus bring together two teams so distant even though geographically so close.

Boca Junior's away jersey opts for a minimalist design, with the blue and yellow social colors making a horizontal band in the center on a white background, a motif also echoed on the edges of the sleeves and collar. The most distinctive aspect, however, is the return, after last season's home jersey, of the club crest used during the 1980s when Diego Armando Maradona also took the field in the Buenos Aires club's jersey. Compared to the shield we are used to, here the four initials of the CABJ team are each inserted in a star placed horizontally in a line on the left side of the jersey.

For River Plate, on the other hand, adidas has opted for a less traditionalist jersey, continuing what it has done in recent years with the away kit, offering a red jersey with horizontal stripes of various colors from red to white that go into the shade. Here the only reference to River's history is the V-neck. Missing, however, is the polo collar, instead used in the home jersey, which has always defined the preppy elegance of the richest team in the Argentine capital.

Both jerseys are available on the official adidas website here.
