The start of the new football season always brings with it a great curiosity on the part of fans and enthusiasts not only to see their teams on the pitch, but to discover the new jerseys that clubs and their respective brands have developed. Colours, style, innovations and so much more whet the curiosity of people who then decide to buy, or not, the modern uniform of their favourite team or simply the one that struck them for a particular reason. And for the 2022/2023 Serie A, compared to last season, there has been an important return to tradition.

This is the case of Inter, who said goodbye to the pixelated design reminiscent of the 'biscione' skin and went back to basics, with the classic Nerazzurri vertical striped shirt by Nike. Italian champions AC Milan are not abandoning the red and black stripes, but for this year's season there is the tricolour design on the sleeve edges. Juventus have stuck to their iconic black and white, although this time the stripes are made up of a set of triangles. But when it comes time to reach into one's wallet to buy one's team jersey, how much do fans have to shell out? And also this year, the news is that Serie A is the league where most is spent.

In Italy, in fact, the average for a game shirt is a good 88 euros. More than in the Premier League, where they are sold at an average of 77 euros, and the Spanish La Liga average of 80 euros. Close to the prices in our country, on the other hand, are the Bundesliga (85 euros) and Ligue 1 (86 euros)

But which team charges the most for its shirt? First place in the ranking of the most expensive clubs goes to Juventus (adidas), which sells the Authentic Home version for 140 euros, the same price for two other uniforms. In second place, by just one penny, is Inter (Nike) with the jersey with the price tag of 139.99 euros. Lower step of the podium for Napoli (EA7) at the cost of 125 euros. Wooden medal for the Italian champion AC Milan (Puma) with a price of 120 euros. A little lower than the first four, then comes Roma (New Balance) who sell their shirts for 110 euros. Just below the two zeros, there is Fiorentina (Kappa), with a price of 99 euros, and Lazio (Mizuno) at 98 euros. Remaining around the 90 euro mark are Bologna (Macron) 92 euro and Sampdoria (Macron) 90 euro.

Six Serie A teams are placed in the 80 euro bracket. Atalanta (Joma) at €80, Lecce (M908) at €84.90, Monza (Lotto) at €89.90, Salernitana at €89 which uses the e-commerce of technical sponsor Zeus and does not have its own online store, Torino (Joma) at €80, Udinese (Macron) at €88. Spezia (Acerbis) is also priced at 80 euros, but for the third special uniform, while the home uniform is sold at 75 euros

Below 80 euros, on the other hand, we find four teams selling their shirts in the lower range. Cremonese (Acerbis) at 74.90 euros, Verona (Macron) at 79 euros and Sassuolo (Puma) at 75 euros. The Serie A club to win the prize for the club that sells its shirt at the lowest price is Empoli, at 'only' 70 euros.

It's a different matter, however, if you look at the prices of 'replica' jerseys; that is, uniforms that have substantial differences in the materials they are made of, seams, fit and other small details that are absent. Only eight teams in Serie A make this distinction and they are Atalanta, Fiorentina, Inter, Juve, Lecce, Milan, Roma and Torino. Those of the Bianconeri, Rossoneri and Giallorossi drop to 90 euros; those of Inter to 89.90 euros. Costs are significantly reduced for the replica versions of the Dea, the Salento giallorossi and the granata at €40 and Fiorentina at €39
