The best songs ever on FIFA
A combination that has become iconic
September 27th, 2022
A few days ago, EA Sports unveiled part of what will probably be the last playlist on FIFA, or at least signed by the US company. Those who have spent a few hours on FIFA in their lives will be well aware that the video game has always focused on music, making it a strong point and in recent times even a real asset, finding new and different commercial outlets. Indeed, the latest news is that some of the artists featured will not only lend their music, but also design a jersey that users can use in their online careers.
But even before the game found new commercial outlets in music, it paved the way for many still unknown artists who, thanks to the game, have exponentially expanded their fanbase and listeners. But if that wasn't enough, there are songs that our minds immediately connect to FIFA, and it's impossible not to think of the famous video game with Bobo Vieri on the cover when Fatboy Slim's 'The Rockafeller Skank' rings in our ears. What about 'Stop The Rock' by Apollo 440, which brings to mind Montella's aeroplane that monopolised the cover of a game that was strongly on the rise and ready to confirm itself as the best ever in spite of Konami. In view of the latest title published by EA Sports we decided to collect all those pearls heard and dispensed over the years, so as not to forget the deep research and accuracy with which the American company decided to take care of its title.
“Jerk it Out” Caesars Palace (FIFA 04)
MGMT – Kids (FIFA 09)
Foster The People - Call It What You Want (FIFA 12)
Peter Bjorn And John - Young Folks (FIFA 08)
Kasabian - LSF (FIFA 04)
Tribalistas - Já Sei Namorar (FIFA 04)
Little Simz - Fear no Man (FIFA 22)
“Song 2” Blur (FIFA: Road to World Cup 98)
“Tubthumping” Chumbawamba (FIFA 98)
But if you really don't agree with this ranking and the rock sounds, protagonists of the early 00s, a genre that almost monopolised EA Sports' video games and obviously populated the world charts, we have something else for you. In fact, it's impossible to stop at 10, impossible to exclude something and include something else, and in all likelihood we've left out something highly iconic so here's an almost complete playlist, with the best tracks, the ones that made history and the forgotten ones, that will surely take you back in time to when FIFA was available on computer or PlayStation 1.
