Portugal had to change its jersey

Nike's choice to have two different colored sleeves did not please FIFA

Portugal had to change its jersey Nike's choice to have two different colored sleeves did not please FIFA

Just when we were celebrating the return of the long-sleeved jerseys, FIFA intervened to change the one of Portugal with which Cristiano Ronaldo's team and teammates took the field during the Nations League. Compared in fact to the one presented by Nike, which was characterized by a diagonal line that cut the jersey in two in the colors of the Portuguese flag, green and red, also chromatically dividing the two sleeves, the one used instead had the two sleeves of the same color. According to the rules contained in the FIFA Equipment Regulations, it is not possible to take the field in official matches with different colored sleeves to avoid confusion.

This decision is not surprising, since last year Galatasaray also had to change their home jersey for the same reason. Even then, Nike had designed a jersey with the same diagonally broken design that coincided with two different colored sleeves.
