Arsenal played with unseen shorts against PSV The Gunners' strange kit season does not stop

Arsenal's playing shorts continue to find no peace, and after William Saliba wore one without one of the three stripes that have always distinguished the technical material signed adidas in the Tottenham' match, in the Gunners' Europa League match at home to PSV they took the pitch in an unprecedented, at least for this season, white color. It was a long-considered choice, as none of the three kits so far presented by the North London-based team matches the Dutch team's home jersey. Indeed PSV's uniform historically features recognizable red and white vertical stripes while the shorts are contrasting black.

A color association that sent Arsenal's possible options into disarray, as they obviously could not use the first jersey. The away kit, on the other hand, is total black, and consequently would have led the two teams to play with the same color pants. The third shirt designed by adidas, with the Ermine pattern borrowed from the crest used by the club during the 1940s, is the first totally pink in the Gunners' history. A color that, despite its uniqueness, conflicted with the Dutchman's red and white when seen from the stands. So after discarding all the options already available, and at length also considering the possibility of using smoky gray London shorts, in the end a one-off was chosen, which unfortunately did not bring much luck to Mikel Arteta's team, defeated 2-0 in a match, however, that was irrelevant for the purposes of passing the round.
