Raekwon e Ghostface Killa in the new New York Knicks for Kith collection
Rapping inside the Madison Square Garden
November 9th, 2022
Once again this season, Ronnie Fieg, the creator and head designer of Kith, has collaborated with his favorite NBA team, the New York Knicks, for a collection dedicated to the Big Apple's heritage. In particular, Fieg was inspired by the Knicks of the 1998/99 season, when coached by Jeff VanGundy and led on the court by Mark Jackson and Larry Johnson they made it to the NBA Finals despite starting from eighth in the East. A team that more than two decades later still remains in the hearts of orange-blue fans, representing many of those values that New Yorkers love to celebrate.
And to personify this rough, embattled but sincere and resilient side of New York, two iconic rappers of that generation, Raekwon and Ghostface Killa, have been called upon to rap side by side in the center of Madison Square Garden wearing the collection that includes T-shirts, snapback hats and of course varsity jackets dedicated to the basketball team. In addition, Ronnie Fieg will also design the parquet at the World Most Famous Arena, giving a retro feel to the Knicks' home games.
The collection will be available Nov. 11 in all the Kith stores.
