The new Danish national team jerseys by Hummel
Inspired by those worn during the legendary 1992 European Championship
March 20th, 2023
Hummel today unveiled the new jerseys that will accompany the Danish national team on their journey to the next European Championship in Germany in 2024, a few months after the World Cup in Qatar, and which will be seen on the pitch for the first time at the match against Finland on 23 March. The jersey was inspired by the one worn by the Danish national team at the height of its history, the surprise win of the 1992 European Championship after being knocked back due to the break-up of Yugoslavia. The cartoon format video announcing it shows Peter Schmeichel from behind and recounts all the steps needed to lift the Danish federation's most important trophy.

The home jersey is thus very similar to the one also produced by Hummel, of course in red and white and with the characteristic chevrons on the shoulders that have characterised the aesthetic of the brand from Aarhus. The same graphic element has also been used on the sleeve edges and sides, enlivening the classic pattern of the Danish jerseys. The away version of the jersey also retains the same design, but in different colours. The Nordic national team has always been known for its innovative and somewhat revolutionary jerseys, such as the one from the 1986 World Cup, and has found a perfect partner in Hummel to take on this challenge. Moreover, the two jerseys worn by the national team at the last World Cup are still available and will be used as the third and fourth jerseys in the next challenges.
