LaLiga has changed the font of the jersey numbers
A new change after the recent rebranding of the logo
June 15th, 2023
Last week LaLiga officially unveiled its new logo, which replaces the colored circle that has been the identity of the Spanish league for the past 30 years. The logo change is part of a rebranding project that will also affect the numbers and names printed on the players' shirts. In fact, although the creative change has not yet been made official, in the stores of some teams including Barcelona and Real Sociedad, it is possible to customise kits with characters that are not those seen during the last season.
As of the 2017/2018 season, LaLiga has chosen, like the Premier League, to adopt a single font for its shirts, an example also followed by Serie A for the past few seasons. This new identity is in continuity with the style of the league's new logo, with fonts that alternate rounded lines with more angular and broken ones, maintaining more generally a more elongated and subtle shape than the 2022/23 font. After a few tests with the shirts of Lewandowski, Pedri and David Silva, it seems that LaLiga has already thought of an interesting first novelty for next season.
