The new men's and women's Champions League footballs
Inspired by the two anthems played before kick-off

After the start of the championships, the second leg of the Champions League qualifying round will also be played in the coming days, which will decide the last clubs in the group stage of both the men's and women's competitions. UEFA and adidas meanwhile unveiled the two balls that will be used in the 2023/24 edition, which will conclude with the finals at Wembley (UCL) and Bilbao (WUCL).

The inspiration behind the two designs are the anthems of the competition, symphonies that have entered the hearts of fans and that mark the start of the great evenings of European football. Even in the presentation photos, the two models are surrounded by orchestras and it is not difficult to imagine the background music. In the ball used for the men's Champions League, the silver background is alternated with the traditional stars, inside which a different letter is inserted to form the words 'The Champions', the culmination of the anthem sung at the top of the voice just before the start of the matches. If the details of this new model are purple, red and blue, for the Women's Champions league ball the predominant colours of the stars are orange and purple. Again, the graphics conceal the anthem text introduced from the 2021/22 edition, arranged in concentric circles to follow the shape of the adidas ball. Unveiling the ball in the presentation shots are some of the most anticipated players, including Toni Kroos and Griedge Mbock Bathy.
