Lewis Hamilton's new helmet made by Hajime Sorayama

During the 2022 Suzuka Grand Prix (Japan), Lewis Hamilton had his helmet customised by the artist Takashi Murakami. This weekend, the race will again be held at Suzuka and the British driver has formalised his collaboration with another great Japanese artist: Hajime Sorayama. The illustrator was inspired by his traditional chrome-plated humanoid robots to create a special helmet that Hamilton will wear inside the Mercedes single-seater.

The silver of the helmet seems a perfect match with the grey of the Mercedes and Hamilton will take on the likeness of the characters illustrated by Sorayama, who in the past has lent his art to numerous brands and artists, but had never entered the world of Formula 1. The collaboration between Lewis Hamilton and Sorayama is not only about the track, in fact, together with the driver's brand +44, a capsule collection has been presented, in which the helmet and other elements that unite Lewis's style with that of the artist return. Between hyperfuturism and a resemblance to the helmets worn by Daft Punk, Lewis Hamilton's next race will certainly be one of the coolest of the season.
