Atalanta's third jersey with city map
The Bergamo City Edition will make its debut today in the match against Empoli
October 30th, 2023
Atalanta are one of the last Serie A teams without a third kit for the 2023/24 season. At least until now, as Atalanta, together with technical sponsor JOMA, have unveiled the jersey they will wear in the Serie A match against Empoli. The Bergamo City Edition, as it has been renamed, is a direct homage to the city and follows the model of the NBA City Edition jerseys, into which a tone-on-tone map of the city has been sublimated. Atalanta's third jersey opts for the buttonless collar model and the shade of red, which has been used in the past as it is one of the two official colours of the city of Bergamo, along with yellow. The historic club colours of black and light blue remain on the collar and cuffs, while the initials BG are printed on the neck.
The fabric is a jacquard that creates a 'blank/full' pattern. The inside of the collar traditionally features the words "La maglia sudata sempre", while "Atalanta Bergamo" is printed on the back just below the collar to emphasise the connection to the city. The jersey has also been produced by JOMA with a green vision, thanks to the use of a 100% recycled fabric for production, specifically from PET bottles that are transformed into raw material, reducing CO2 emissions by 75%.
