adidas Brazil made three jerseys for Black Consciousness Month
Cruzeiro, Internacional and Atlético Mineiro are all involved

November in Brazil is the month dedicated to Black Consciousness, in which the ties between the African and Brazilian populations are celebrated through culture and design, uniting the different communities and traditions. For this reason, adidas Brazil decided to create three special jerseys for Cruzeiro, Internacional and Atlético Mineiro, with the latter having already debuted with the kit in the 3-1 victory over Fortaleza. The jerseys were made together with the Laboratório Fantasma collective, who chose braids, one of the symbols of African culture, as the main design motif.
The campaign entitled 'Braid, Brazil and Africa', featuring rapper and singer-songwriter Rael, uses the different types of braids that have represented Afro-Brazilian identity throughout history, transferring these symbols into the design of the game jerseys. In cream, the jerseys feature the braid design and yellow elements on the sleeves and bottom edge, while the social colours of each club feature on the chest with the logos and on the shoulders with the three stripes. So blue for Cruzeiro, red for Internacional and black for Atlético Mineiro. The 'Da Raiz à Luta' patches have been added to complete the three kits.
"This collaboration with adidas and the clubs aims to highlight how African traditions are present in our society and should be a source of pride, respect and appreciation. As a football lover, it is a dream to be able to make this collaboration with adidas possible, which will bring pride, awareness and affection to so many fans and the Brazilian club. Brands play a fundamental role in this dialogue and it is a pleasure to be part of this achievement,' said Evandro Fióti, CEO of Laboratório Fantasma.
