The new adidas Gazelle dedicated to clubs and national football teams

The adidas Samba was undoubtedly the sneaker of the year, winning the hearts of it-girls on TikTok as well as blokecore enthusiast in straight jeans and cardigans. And adidas seems willing to maintain this privileged place by replacing an iconic Originals shape with another equally historic model straight from the vast archives of the Three Stripes: the Gazelle. Designed for handball in 1966, the shoe that became a key element of Brit-pop style in the early 1990s is making a big comeback on the scene thanks to its vintage appeal and versatility. Like the Samba, the Gazelle has the same clean shape and flat sole with the three stripes on the sides that have been so fashionable in recent months, combining casual and sporty style with the various trends of the time, from vintage to blokecore. For the latter, adidas wants to relaunch the Gazelle and develop various models for club and national teams.

Even before the collaborations with various fashion brands, adidas took a more sporty and football-specific approach and produced 16 models with the colours of so many teams and their respective crests on the tongue. As with last year's Samba, which came in Juventus, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich versions, eight clubs - Arsenal, Celtic, Bayern, Leeds, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Seattle Sounders - and eight national teams - Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Germany, Chile, Italy and Spain - are involved. However, not all adidas Gazelles in this pack will be released at the same time. Some models have not yet been unveiled and it is also not certain that they will be released in all international markets. In any case, adidas is looking to extend its supremacy in the casual sneaker market with another historic model from its archive. And while all brands are looking for the next Samba, adidas seems to have already found the answer.
