It makes its debut to commemorate the 150th anniversary of his passing

When a Serie B team develops an interesting concept for a new jersey, it always makes news. This time, it was the turn of Lecco, the Lombard team promoted to Serie B last season, which is starting to achieve some good results after a not-so-promising start to the season. This is their third jersey, dedicated to the figure of Alessandro Manzoni, a well-known writer and poet who grew up in the city of Lecco and passed away 150 years ago. The Legea jersey, in black, is adorned with a tone-on-tone text that features the words from the passage Addio ai monti by Lucia, taken from Chapter VIII of The Betrothed. The V-neck collar and sleeves are accented with sky blue, the team's social color, while socks and shorts have not been redesigned from a design perspective.
It was presented today at Villa Manzoni in Lecco, and the club, in a statement, described the soul behind this incredible jersey. «In the black third jersey of Calcio Lecco 1912, there is a silent tribute to the majestic mountains and the illustrious literary past of the region. In a tone-on-tone, almost secret fashion, the text of Lucia's farewell to the mountains, a work by Alessandro Manzoni, intertwines with the fabric itself. This commemorative tribute celebrates not only the team but also the deep cultural and poetic heritage of the territory. With every step forward on the field, the soul of the mountains and the memory of Manzoni reverberate, uniting sport and culture in an indelible embrace.»
